The Role

Boat Rocker Studios is seeking a dynamic individual who takes initiative, feels passionately about their work and will support the Boat Rocker Global Distribution and Brands team on a variety of new and ongoing projects. Our ideal candidate is enrolled in Marketing, Communications or a related field, and is eager to learn about the media industry and adapt to the fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

*This role is part of a hybrid work model and will require you to work from our Toronto office 3 days per week. Only students pursuing a relevant area of study will be considered for this position; those pursuing a non-relevant field will not qualify.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Global Sales & Marketing team to prepare materials for potential clients or partners (e.g., presentations, pitch decks)
  • Assist with the creation of marketing materials and organization of tradeshow planning
  • Complete detailed research on assigned projects and tasks
  • Monitor and research social media channels, assist with scheduling posts, and track social media trends
  • Attend meetings, take detailed notes, and circulate these to the wider teams
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating internal meetings to support executive teams

Requirements:
  • Marketing, Communications or related background
  • Experience with using Adobe Premiere Pro is considered an asset but not required
  • Strong knowledge of social media and current trends
  • Ability to use PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office tools to be able to create and edit presentations
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a problem-solving approach
  • Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and efficient
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Sharp creative instincts with a general understanding of the television landscape
  • A self-starter with a keen interest to learn
  • Passion for entertainment who would like to work across all genres of television

Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain industry knowledge and skills
  • Network with the employees at Boat Rocker Studios, build connections and gain exposure to different opportunities in the industry
  • Participate in social events and education sessions to enhance the internship experience

Salary Range: $17.60/hour
