The Role
The Manager, Human Resources plays a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle and delivering day-to-day HR support to employees, managers, and executives across Canada, the US, and the UK. This role operates as a trusted partner to the   production studio and corporate teams, ensuring effective delivery of core HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, HR operations and benefits/compensation.  

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment and embraces a “no job is too big or too small” approach. Collaborative and engaging, they serve as a primary point of contact for HR-related matters, provide consultative guidance, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and contribute to ongoing HR initiatives and process improvements while fostering a positive and high-performing culture.

Responsibilities
Business Partnership / Employee Relations
  • Build relationships with business leaders and people leaders to establish credibility as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
  • Provide effective coaching, counseling and performance strategies on all employee relations situations in alignment with best practices and demonstrating sound understanding of employment law and applicable legislation.
  • Support employee relations efforts by responding to questions, addressing concerns, and assisting HR leadership with investigations or documentation.
  • Partner with management on day-to day HR operational demands such as performance management, termination, conflict resolution, and accommodation requests.
  • Provide communication and change management expertise on business initiatives and support people leaders at all levels to effectively facilitate change.
  • Maintain HR libraries including job descriptions, policies, and templates.
  • Prepare employment verification letters, reports, presentations, and other HR correspondence.

Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, prescreening candidates, coordinating candidate communications, and supporting background checks.
  • Draft and prepare offer letters, employment confirmations, and other hiring documentation.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding, including system setup, orientation, documentation collection, welcome materials, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure smooth offboarding, including HRIS updates, payroll and benefits changes, exit packets, and access removal.

HR Operations & Employee Support
  • Maintain and update employee information within HRIS.
  • Administer health, dental, vision, and other benefit programs.
  • Manage enrollments, changes, terminations, leave of absence claims, and open enrollment processes.
  • Provide consultative guidance to employees and managers regarding compensation and benefits policies.
  • Prepare employment verification letters, reports, presentations, and other HR correspondence.
  • Support compensation programs and salary reviews.

Project Support
  • Support HR department projects and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement, automation, and efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education with focus on Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in Human Resources, including HR Business Parter experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and best practices in Canada and US (experience with UK legislation considered an asset).
  • AI fluency in leveraging AI tools to drive efficiencies and value add improvements
  • Continuous improvement mindset to solve individual issues, and to instill best practices or systems thinking to embed processes and solve for future issues
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-management skills.
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Suite.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000
