The Role
The Reporting & Royalties Administrator will be responsible for all reporting and payment of net revenues pursuant to Boat Rocker Rights’ agreements with producers. This includes, but is not limited to, report preparation, data entry into necessary systems, and participation on a reporting workflow automation project. This position reports directly to the Manager, Reporting & Royalties.
Responsibilities
- Read, analyze, and input distribution agreements and sales licences to produce and fulfil reporting obligations
- Work as part of a small team to ensure contractual reporting obligations are met on time and with all due accuracy; escalate issues to Manager in a timely manner
- Ensure producer contact details, commission, expense details and other relevant information is added or uploaded to Rightsline to maintain an up-to-date system
- Work with Rights Admin and Finance teams to ensure data integrity between various systems related to collections and expenses
- Coordinate with other departments and functional roles (i.e. Finance, Legal, Content, Rights & Media Ops) within Boat Rocker to obtain required information in a timely manner
- Administrative point of contact for Rev Share licensees to enforce licence terms and to ensure timely and accurate reporting received
- Analyze royalty receipts to ensure cash completeness & identify and solve variances
- Update and maintain tracking sheets or reports to manage expenses, receipts, reporting periods, net payments, recoupments, and other information as required
- Assist with internal internal/external audit requests
- Perform other duties and work on special projects as required
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- Minimum 3-years experience in basic bookkeeping/royalties practices, or other relevant experience
- Demonstrated proficiency and precision with data, numbers and calculations and able to communicate effectively to non-finance roles
- Ability to both follow direction and work independently to effectively manage workload and prioritize activities
- Proven problem-solving skills and analytical outlook
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient
- Intermediate Excel skills – proficient with pivot tables, vlookups, macros, etc
- Experience using AI tools to find efficiencies in assigned work
- Experience with Rightsline and NetSuite is considered an asset
- Previous experience in distribution, television or other entertainment media is an advantage
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
