Production Manager, Kids & Family

Boat Rocker Media has approximately 40 shows greenlit or in-production and a distribution library of 9,000+ half hours for leading global customers such as Netflix, HBO, BBC, NBC, ABC, Hulu, Amazon, Apple, Disney, Showtime, Discovery, CTV, Global and CBC.
 
The Position:

Reporting to the SVP, Production, the Production Manager will work with a mix of animated and live action series.  They will be responsible for tracking each productions timeline, cost reports and monthly deliveries. 

Responsibilities:
  • Primary in-house contact with series producers, and liaison with internal corporate departments for active productions, and advising on production topics such as purchases, insurance coverage and union matters
  • Create preliminary schedules for upcoming projects, both live action and animation
  • Manage development project work, in conjunction with Content development team
  • Oversee smaller productions as required
  • Maintain studio production calendar
  • Weekly tracking of production status for all productions
  • Monthly tracking of production cost reports from all productions
  • Set up production insurance per project
  • Track equipment purchases
  • Track live action storage facilities
  • Work with BLA, create initial credit lists
  • Assist in sourcing third party animation studios in Canada and around the world
  • Receive and review wrap documents from productions and create internal archive
 
 Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in Production Manager or higher production roles, preferably live action
  • Ability to work on multiple productions simultaneously either independently or in a supporting role to the SVP, Production
  • Strong knowledge of WGC, DGC & ACTRA guidelines (SAG a plus) and other union knowledge
  • Comfortable working with cost reports and budgets
  • Proficient in Movie Magic
  • Ability to build production schedules
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formula writing
  • Working knowledge of Canadian funding agencies including tax credits
