Scene Assembly is a key department for the studio. It’s a quality control check before scenes are handed off to Animation and is the first time every asset component comes together with characters, props and painted backgrounds placed into a scene. As a Scene Set Up Artist, you’ll problem solve issues and check continuity for each episode in one of our awesome series!
*This role is part of a hybrid work model and will require you to work from our studio in Ottawa up to 3 days per week.
You'll get to:
- Gather and compose all asset components (characters, props, backgrounds, etc.) to ready each scene for the Animation team
- Ensure all shots are in line with the style of the production, and meet the quality standards of our studio and clients
- Collaborate closely with other members of the Scene Set Up team and Animation team to solve any technical or creative issues that arise
- Complete revisions as requested
- Work within series production schedule and meet required deadlines
This will be your JAM if you have:
- Strong creative and technical problem-solving abilities
- Ability to follow direction and take criticism and feedback
- Good compositional skills
- Great communication and teamwork skills, and ability to work well in a team setting as well as autonomously
- Ability to remain self-motivated and proactive in a fast-paced environment
- Positive, approachable demeanor and attitude
- Excels at organization, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and a strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of ToonBoom Harmony and production pipelines is a plus
- Previous experience working in an animation studio setting is a plus
