The Human Resources Advisor will report in to the Senior Manager, Human Resources and will be responsible for the wide range of growing need for HR support across the company. This position will focus primarily on providing HR Business Partner support to BRM’s various production studios and corporate departments but will also make a meaningful contribution to the growth of HR practices and capabilities for the whole of BRM.

This position has the opportunity to participate at a broad level in supporting the expansion of the company at a particularly exciting point in time and will be able to add value to the business entities it supports as they experience sizeable growth. Responsibilities
  • Manage employee relations providing guidance and support to management and employees regarding discipline, termination, dismissal, absenteeism, discrimination, harassment/violence, conflict dispute resolution, and accommodation
  • Participate in talent acquisition for the business entities as the main contact to facilitate the recruitment process
  • Support hiring managers through approval process, agency engagement, and candidate management within the Applicant Tracking System
  • Prepare offer agreements, track/manage candidates through to hire date, and handle employment issues that may arise throughout the process
  • Manage orientation steps through to providing onboarding support of new employees including legislated training
  • HRIS administration including maintaining employee data, files and records [for hires, employee changes through to terminations] ensuring well coordinated flow of information to and from the teams managing Payroll
  • Guide and assist managers in the termination/resignation process
  • Respond to manager and employee HR-related inquiries or concerns regarding benefits, policies and procedures, etc.
  • Participate in the annual merit increase and bonus payout process
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures as well as guidelines and processes where they don’t exist or need to be formalized, specific to the business entities supported
  • Assume day-to-day support of overseas populations and new acquisitions once integration activities are completed
  • Work in close collaboration and coordination with those responsible for HR at BRM’s other locations
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma (preferably in Human Resources) and 3 to 5 years’ experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience
  • A CHRP certification would be an asset but not required
  • Proven experience building effective and productive working relationships with business partners/internal clients
  • Proven ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities that may have conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently to manage and prioritize workload, and take initiative
  • Must be comfortable working in an agile environment, and be flexible and adaptable-minded
  • Solid analytical thinking and planning skills
  • Strong knowledge of the MS Office suite and be adept at working on and with technology and tools
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and efficient
  • Excellent overall people skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
